The resort is very clean and peaceful. The rooms are nice with marble everywhere, even if in the complex the result is quite artificial and old. The outdoor pool is what you need for a healthy pause of relax. The breakfast was good but very limited. The staff wasn't particulary friendly. Room rates quite high compared to service.

You arrive at Orchha and snake your way down the road until you hit the bridge to the river, where your driver will take a sharp right. This means that you are on the right path to the Orchha Resort. The thing that makes the hotel totally worthwhile is the fact that you have the Royal Chhatris (Cenotaphs) towering over... More

Orchha is unusual for a Western visitor in India, in that there are many Indian visitors , visiting this amazingly beautiful, relatively unspoilt village of temples and forts. The hotel is less desperate to please than others, which in itself is a welcome relief, and you take the staff as you find them, which is sometimes delightful, sometimes busy, but... More

We spent a night at the Orchha Resort after a business trip because it is just next to the chhatris on the Betwa river. You just step out of the hotel and visit the beautiful chhatris, then you cross the river for a walk in the forest. The hotel was full of tourists, but the management and the kitchen made... More

Orchha is a pretty little place which is gradually being discovered by tourists from all over the world. We stayed at the Orchha Resort, which is by the river at the end of the town. The room we were shown was beautiful, but unfortunately - against what we had stipulated (not the hotel's fault) - a smoker's room. We were... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on my trip around India. I recommend getting the deluxe room and including breakfast in your rate. My room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. The pool area is a nice place to relax but during my stay there were a lot of... More

Perhaps I'm too harsh, but given that this was the most expensive of the hotels we stayed in India (by far!) it by no means lived up to expections. For a start the room (a luxury tent, technically) was no cleaner than anywhere else and the room was not made up during our 2 night stay. Amenities were good with... More

Slightly run down small hotel with a good pool and excellent (vegetarian) food. It lies next to some of the monuments and is only some three hundred yards from the village centre. The staff were not the friendliest or most efficient that we came across in India but there was nothing particularly wrong with the service. I would happily goback... More

Our edition of "Fodor's Guide to India" characterizes this property as a "fine resort". We disagree. My wife and I stayed at this property for 2 nights last week. We found the room unclean, saw dead mosquitoes on the bathroom walls, and the staff was not particularly helpful or friendly. The only memorable experience was that the doorman saluted us... More
