After six weeks travelling through the cities of India it was a great pleasure to stay in this quite and beautiful village. Our homestay parents Hari and Kusum were very friendly and the room was clean an comfortable. We will never forget our stay near Orchha...

My husband and I visited recently for three nights and wished we had stayed for many more nights. I had the best nights sleep of my entire trip at the homestay. Everyone was very accommodating, the area was clean and the food delicious. Nitu our homestay's daughter was a treasure! All of the family were welcoming, event the dog! The... More

If you want to have a taste of real-life India, then go for it. Both the staff and the host family were wonderful. We felt at home very quickly and were sad to leave after 3 nights. The room was very clean and convenient and the food amazing. Probably our best stay in all Northern India. Definitely the most enriching... More

If I didn't choose Orchha Home-Stay, I will never have so much feeling & experience about the real life in India, especially for the poor families. So please don't just treat it as a place for the night. I'm happy to see few child begging in this small village, as all of them go to school everyday. They have better... More

My wife and I have been to India eight times, for a total of more than six months of travelling, but we had never actually spent a night in a village until we stayed at the Orcha home-stay which is located in Ganj, a village on the outskirts of Orcha a short walk from town. We spent four nights here... More

As part of a four week family trip with my wife and children aged 13 and 10 we stayed at two homestays for two days, two of us at Malti's, two of us at Kusum's. Without a doubt this was my favourite part of a fantastic trip. I'd thought we'd have to endure the two nights stay and wondered especially... More

The reviews made us think this would be some magical experience. These are poor families who have little education and are making at least something from this organization. It's not magic. They make food on the floor, the woman does ALL the work for 100 rupees per night that the organization gives the family, the kids are still filthy and... More

Sorry to know that the home-stay was not up to your expectations. Allow us to correct one error concerning the amount the families receive. All the money that guests pay for meals goes entirely to the family. A major part of what we charge for the room goes to repay the loan we have given them - the Rs. 100... More

After quite a long drive from Khajuraho, the cool, mud room at Orchha, behind the Orchha Laxmi Narayan temple at Ganj, was such a welcome. We had put up at Hari and Kusmi's house. The lady of the house was such a warm person, she took personal care while serving our food. The room was clean, the toilet though not... More
