It is sad, in this day and age when everyone is battling to make ends meet to have this kind of Country Lodge knocked because there wasn't enough toilet paper! How much do you need at one time? If you can't afford the wine don't drink it, life is about choices. I didn't think it was that bad. We have... More

We went there for a function and stayed over. The welcome was up to standard with welcome drinks and all. The room was spacious but had no Air conditioner, the bathroom was small with no shower , but more worrying was that they only had half a toilet roll in the bathroom and we had to go to the hotel... For many years, both while I lived in Botswana and when I would return to visit friends there, I have spent many lovely times at De Hoek. The high level of service has been maintained for many years, with comfortable accommodations, superb dining, and informal elegance. This is not a place for people who feel they must be connnected to... More

Thank you to the whole team at De Hoek, what a magical weekend away to celebrate our 15 year anniversary and also the upcoming birth of our daughter! Special mention needs to go to every staff member, from the lady who cleaned our room and brought extra biscuits “for the baby”, to the man in the bar who just magically... More

A birthday weekend at De Hoek. Simply superb. The house, the accommodation, the grounds and especially the magnificent staff made the stay worth every cent. We felt like royalty. Any negatives? The bathroom has a huge made-for-two bath, but the geyser apparently doesn't have the capacity to fill it. After being treated so well by the amazing staff in all... More

The main reception area is cute, the gardens are lovely and the food is good. The rooms are AWFUL!! They have taken the former magaliesburg hotel rooms that would pass as a 2 star room and have placed a few Charlotte Rhys products, a rose, cheap furniture and are charging the rooms at R3700! I have never been more shocked.... More

We stayed a two night weekend, it was amazing. Henry the assistant manager went out of his way to look after us. The five course diner was a real treat. Expensive but really made with love and worth it. We felt completely relaxed after being there in the first hour after our arrival..something we needed for a good relax and... More

This really is a beautiful place to stay - the buildings, rooms, food, service and location are of very high standard. We arrived in the early afternoon, and though lunch is not normally served, the kitchen staff provided us with a light, tasty meal - served at a table set up for us under the trees by the pool. The... More

De Hoek deserves the highest possible accolades. It is luxurious, cosy and well-appointed in every way. The hotel is hidden away in a most beautiful and peaceful setting. The staff were courteous and helpful whilst remaining discreet. The food at De Hoek is an experience. The menu is well thought out and the food exquisitely prepared. We found De Hoek... More
