We stayed two nights at this property and, as mentioned in many other reviews, only one of two elevators worked. Our room was very small and plain, the bedding worn and worst of all, most of the staff (from the front desk check-in/out, the maitre 'd at breakfast to the bell boys) were either rude or completely indifferent. The breakfast... more

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with Jules Verne (that is another horific story). The hotel itself was very nice as was the bedrooms and the position close to the site. My main complaint was the Fine Dining restaurant. wWe booked this restaurant for a special occasion for our party of 4 for 19.00 our first course arrived at... more

The Mövenpick Petra is clearly the best located hotel in Petra/Wadi Musa, just a short 300 meter walk to the entrance of Petra (the ruins and the historical park). The rooms are very comfortable, both the breakfast buffet and the rooftop restaurant are great. For the three days total in Petra, it was great being at this hotel. more

Right at the entry to the Petra site, the hotel was a good place to stay. It was clean and comfortable, and had a very good level of services. The food was good, especially the breakfast buffet, which was outstanding. The quibbles we had were these: the fitness facility was basic, and there was no staff to help with machines... more

Dear Guest, thank you for taken the time to provide us with your valuable feed back and rating us a good hotel with great location. We are very sorry for the poor service you received at the Gym and pool which found our immediate attention. There is food & beverage service at the pool during season from April to October,...

Movenpick Petra is a quick walk to the gates of Petra, and is modern and architecturally elegant. The central court is stunning, and the rooms quite nice. The service was good, but not complete, which is what is needed for a 5th star. For example, the bartender was not only slow, but did not know how to make a martini,... more

Great hotel for visiting Petra. We only stayed one night so didn't get to try out the facilities too much, but this hotel is literally at the gate for Petra and so it wins hands down for ease of access - important, if like us, you want to start at 6.30am! The bed was one of the most comfortable I've... more

I left similar feedback when I left the hotel and filled out their guest feedback form. This may have been a 5-star back in the 80s but it's certainly not one today. It may also explain why construction was taking place while I was there. I was upgraded and it scares me to think what my room would have looked... more

The present refurbishment programme at the Petra Moevenpick Resort, to be completed in September 2010, is in keeping to our position as a leading 5 star hotel since 1996. The guest was upgraded to a superior room which actually had not yet been refurbished. During the work in progress, certain stairwells in the hotel are for the use of construction...

Our trip to Petra did not start off well, though it improved greatly until we were leaving. The taxi the hotel was to send us at the Aqaba crossing was not there when we arrived. Even the Border Police assisted us in trying to call the hotel. The Jordanians were very friendly and helpful. We eventually got a ride with... more

We arrange taxi service for pick up at the Aqaba border and at the Int. Airport Amman through a local company, which provides english speaking and customer oriented driver & service. In the mentioned case the driver in fact went to the border, but drivers are not allowed to go into the security zone and waited therefore outside, while the...

Food: just okay Service: okay Location: I guess this is why people stay here. It's the nicest hotel that's in walking distance to the Petra entrance gates. I loved the fact that we could just walk there. Others were hopping out of taxis to get to Petra. This way, we could leisurely enjoy our breakfast before heading out. I don't... more

We stayed at the Moevenpick Hotel in Petra. We expected there would be quite some distance to go before we actually arrived at Petra site. Imagine our surprise when we walked out the door to the actual site beginning. The hotel itself was clean, but our room looked directly onto the roof of the security centre and the room needed... more
