The landscaping at this resort is absolutely beautiful, the lawns are manicured daily by the staff. Overall the hotel was excellent. The room was a perfect size, and came with a mini kitchenette (most utensils are there, although some cooking supplies would have been nice, such as oil, herbs, etc).

Don't stay anywhere else in Cabarete, especially Kite Beach. Velero is the most beautiful resort, beautiful grounds, fabulous staff and great restaurant on the water! Shout out to Omar at the front desk for taking top notch care of us while we were there!

just returned to NYC after 5 days
at the Velero Beach in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Hurricane Irene hit the beach the last day of the trip, and the staff didn't miss a beat. Service was good and preparations were made for a much fiercer storm. Highly recommended and I look forward to my return.
