Stayed 3 nights in a Suite last month- we were in the area in order to see the Golden Triangle (having been to Chiang Mai some years ago) and also to do the Mahout Training at the Anantara Elephant Camp. We opted to stay at Serene as its 5 minutes down the road and the rates are a fraction of...

We were here for 3 superb nights. The standard room initially offered was excellent, but we chose to upgrade to a fine room overlooking the Mekon River. This was a good decision as the activities on the river added additional interest to the available views as we were able to watch the sun rise each morning over Laos on the...

There is no better value in the Golden Triangle. The hotel is elegantly simple and located right on the Mekong with fantastic views of Myanmar and Laos. This hotel is the first I saw on my way down the Mekong from China a few years back and I decided immediately to stay here once we made port in Chiang Saen....

What a great hotel in the Golden Triangle! I really enjoy the view and and service was excellent. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to spend a night in Chiang Saen. It's really quiet after 8ish, there isn't much to do in this area. You miight have to walk a...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. Excellent service, very good food, fantastic view of the mekong river. A good starting point for visiting the Golden Triangle. You can rent one of the long-tail boats for 400 Bhats per boat to see the Laos side of the border. Visit the museum of opium and the hall of opium nearby.
We arrived at Chiang Rai airport and booked a car at the Avis booth. Costs only Bt 4000 for 3 days rental with insurance. Driving in Northern Thialand is practical with easy to follow road signs and light traffic unlike Bangkok.
From the airport, it took us an hour to arrive at the Serene@Chiangrai. The hotel is in Chiang Saen,...

The hotel is modern, clean and has wonderful open rooms with a bath and a rain shower. The staff were fantastic, they insisted on driving us to local attractions and retaurants...

Booked a deluxe room with city view thru Agoda (best prices on the net). Upon arrival, for less than US $17 was able to upgrade to a river view Junior Suite. Nice bed, deep tub (luke warm H2O), separate shower & toilet. In room wifi, but need unique user name/password for each device connecting. Had no problem getting multiple user...
