My room was noisy and Really hot. I paid 15 dollars for it. Shared toilets and showers were awful and disgusting. Breakfast was only ok thing there. I saw rooms upstairs and there seem to be better. Don't wanna go there again.

A good double room with bathroom and a/c for $25.Great location, plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff is extremely helpful. The lady, whom I suspect is the owner was very helpful with travel arrangements and advice. The balcony where breakfast is served is a delight, looking out over the street you can relax during the day with a drink, taking... More

We stayed in the 5 bed dorm room as 4 of us in May '12. We paid $10 each per night. Breakfast was included and wifi was free. Good strong air-con.  Firstly. There was a massive dead cockroach under my pillow on arrival.  The sheets were grey and smelled funny. Doubt if they had been changed. The blanket was very... More

$20 a night for a room with aircon is a good price anywhere in Myanmar. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and the staff are friendly. The breakfast is tasty as well! They also know more about bus routes and times than any travel agent on the street!

it is located along the main street, with airline offices/restaurants/provision shops/tour agencies/bus station just 5mins walk away. so little wonder why this place is popular and making reservations in advance is recommended. the place is old and rustic, with a swing by the entrance so that you can sit there and watch the world past by. staff are super duper... We had a double room on the ground floor, which was a bit dark, but a good choice when being on a budget. The bathrooms was not so nice (as everywhere in Myanmar), but ok. Breakfast is served on the top floor with nice views on the street. The staff was very friendly and the locations is good to walk... More

We were here 3 nights and walked away from our experience massacred by bed bugs. I'm hoping it was just in the room we stayed in, room 106. Besides the bed bugs blood fest, the front desk staff was nice and very helpful, the breakfast staff was rude, and the room was dirty and dingy. Bad even for Myanmar. Also... More

I liked the May Kha Lar guesthouse, their prices although high compared to other countries in the region are not over the top by the standards of myanmar, my $15 room was comfortable, had an air conditioner and a large shared bathroom which was used by only 6 rooms. They have free wifi which is relatively fast and a breakfast... More

Still a good choice and near to lots local restaurants so a great budget choice as rooms are inexpensive service is helpful the owner is kind and ready to help. Bike hire is also convenient. The bar terrace is good place to socialise with other travellers. They must clean bathrooms though most were in a sad state of cleanliness that... More

Good place and good location to explore Bagan. For Burmees standards this is a very good guesthouse/hotel and a reasonable price. The internet is the best in Mandalay, when the router is turned on in the internet room. Mostly it's turned of between 21.00 and 9.00 hrs. The staff is really nice and helpfull. The rooms are moderate. The breakfast... More
