Only used this hotel when I wanted to do some gym work, followed by a quick dip in the outside pool. The gym is poolside - it has some freeweight bumbells and static weight machines; rowers; cycle machines and steppers - it does the job and for me it was free as I would always go with a family member... “No hot water and room smelled like ash try.”

Sure this is where most visitors like to stay in BA but that does not mean it is good. My room had the smell of years of smoke. I live in Jakarta and travel frequently across Indonesia, including to Banda Aceh. I have stayed approximately ten times at Hermes Palace (even when it was SwissBel Hotel). “A good hotel in a developing location”

Went for one night business trip and was surprised. The hotel very modern as the area is still rapidly developing. Not so far from the newly build/developing airport. Food was ok for breakfast with a large choice. Room big and comfortable. Power sockets a bit dodgy.
