Nadarakwai is nothing short of superb. The staff were unbelievably knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The food was delicious and the accommodations wonderfully comfortable. The tour of the Maasai boma was the best we had had in Tanzania, and the wildlife specialist was captivating--- just ask about the amazing life of the dung beetle! Since you are not that far from... We spent 4 perfect days at Ndarakwai. The staff, the food, the tents, the Maasi visit, the day and night game drives were all superb. The little luxuries such as a hot water bottle in the bed were fabulous. I would recommend Ndarakwai to everyone....our 15 year old will never forget the bush babies! I will never forget the feeling... More

The was the best surprise that we had during our whole trip in Tanzania. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy comfortable rooms and the best hosting by the guides and manager. The highlight by far was the tree-house sundowners, we did not want to leave. The only disappointment was that we did not come here at the... More

We started our 14 days in Tanzania with 2 and 1/2 days here. Perfect way to transition from traveling almost 1/2 way around the world. The uniqueness of getting to go out on walks with a guide and ranger and to go out on night game drives is possible due to this being private acreage is such a treat. The... More

The Ndarakwai Ranch was a beautiful and relaxing setting and the service was very good. However - a word to the wise - do not depend on the the security of the "locked" trunks in your room. I had $900 stolen from the trunk while it was supposedly locked and secure. I found out later that several employees also had... More

We spent on this lovely spot two nights before climbing the Kilimanjaro: for resting and preparing. We got a very, very warm welcome from Steve & Lynn, the managers and a lot of attention, because we were at that time their only four guests. The walking safari with Steve, the night drive, the so nice decorated ecolodge with the bush... More

We lead a safari to Kenya and Tanzania every November and love to spend time at Ndarakwai. All of our guests have wonderful things to say. The tents are spacious, beds comfy, (hot water bottles greet you each evening), food is amazing. The staff is helpful and friendly. We choose to end our safari time at Nadarakwai. The safari walks... The story of Ndarakwai is fascinating in and of itself. Peter Jones, the founder of this operation, has tremendous amounts of knowledge and wisdom from decades worth of experiences in East Africa as an archaeologist, from managing paleolithic dig sites for Mary Leakey, to his years among tribes-people. Peter and the rest of the staff at Ndarakwai are passionate about... More

Reading past reviews, I wonder how much our experience was affected by the absence of the managers everyone refers to, Steve and Lyn. We found Ndarakwai's eco-friendly aims impressive and admirable, but were disappointed by aspects of our stay. We knew before coming that we wouldn't see cats at Ndarakwai. But there were no elephants or giraffes present during our... More
