The best reason to stay at this hotel is the location, about 5 minutes from the International airport. I've stayed here before several times and this time I stayed both before and after a northern circuit safari. Plus: complimentary transfers to/from the hotel from nearby JRO; great view of Kilimanjaro - should she chose to show herself; pleasant gardens and... More

We staeyed there for only one night before we left Tanzania. the property is located very close to the Kilimanjaro airport so it is a natural stop. The property itself is very nice with a lots of beautiful flowers and trees around, idividual houses, and a view of Kilimanjaro. Rooms were clean and very comfortable, staff was nice. The place... After two weeks in Tanzania, it was time to move onto South Africa. We had a spare night, so just decided to stay near the airport because we had a 6am flight. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this lodge. The rooms were spacious and very clean and sweet smelling, the facilities were well kept and the staff... More

After spending 8 days traveling through out Tanzania, we spent our final night at the Kia Lodge, before flying out of Kilimanjaro airport at 6 am the following day. Our tour operator set up this hotel for us, as the alternative appeared to be to stay in Arusha (~45 minute drive). Since we had to be at the airport before... More

I was expecting a soulless cement block, and found individual huts set in lovely grounds. It was poorly lit at night, though, so do bring a torch. The pleasant open bar area had wi-fi, and proper coffee. In the room, the shower was functional, and the supply of hot water was good. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the use... More

I can only really comment on spending the day here, as we never actually stayed overnight. After finishing our Kilimanjaro trek we stayed the day here, before flying home. They allowed us to book a room for the day and being so close to the airport (literally 5 minutes away) we could happily swim in the pool and eat in... More

My husband and I stayed here on the night of 16th December 2011 after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. It's a beautiful lodge but so poorly managed it's not even funny. We changed rooms 3 times in one night because the AC would not work and even after the Manager's intervention, the third room was no better. I had to manually switch... More

Convenient for the airport since they offer free transfers. Pleasant grounds with individual chalets although I did get a bit lost trying to find my way around after dark. Rooms have a main room with bed nets, plenty of luggage space and bathroom with shower. However the quality is not what you would expect for the price. The breakfast was... More

Stayed here first night in Tanzania. Neat and clean rondavels very close to Kili airport. Found the breakfast somewhat lacking, and didn't get to dinner. Views are amazing and the Lodge has a lovely stone swimming pool for guest use. I recommend most strongly that guests wear closed shoes. We arrived in the dark and I was stung twice by... More

This was the first hotel we stayed in upon arriving in Tanzania via Kilimanjaro International Airport. It is conveniently located about a 5 minute drive from the airport along a dirt road. The rooms are built in the form of individual little structures, are clean, authentically decorated and include modern bathrooms. The property is beautiful with its wild flowers in... More
