The owner has clearly spent a lot of money on glossy brochures and a flashy website, but the reality for my friend and I last week was somewhat different. Road works immediately outside the entrance meant that the pavement was up - very dangerous for anyone approaching the hotel, particularly with suitcases. A twin-bedded room had been confirmed prior to... More

Their brochure is totally misleading - this is a house that has been turned into a bed and breakfast and with the addition of a few bottles of shampoo in the bathroom can charge over the top for it. We booked a twin bedded room (we are two women travelling together) - the taxi driver couldn't find it, it is... More

Our experience was wholly positive. If you are looking for a quiet place to be, not far from Carthage and Tunis you will love this beautifully restored hotel, simply furnished and very comfortable. Petit Déjeuner is superb - but don't expect eggs and bacon!

We placed a client at Dar Fatma who was coming to Tunisia on business. Having personally inspected the hotel on two occassions, we described the interiors and the location as charm in a Zen manner, located within the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said. This expectation was met. However, three areas that disappointed our client and in turn, disappointed us,... More

Dar Fatma is a very personal small hotel wiith a simple clean look. It is set in a quirky old house in the middle of a beautiful village. If you want all the bells and whistles of a modern chain you will hate this place, but if you value something individual then it is just great. The kindness of the... More

Charming little guest house, hidden away in Sidi Bou Said. Rooms very clean, though some are quite small. There is a roof terrace with hot tub. Meals are taken in the inner courtyard. Personally, I think it is a little expensive for a guest house of this type, but you are paying for the location. One downside, is that you... More

A splendid location. Wonderful owners and staff. Beautiful rooms with excellent bathrooms. The rooms are not very big but practical and with no frills. The inner court is cosy and we spent some time having a drink and using the wireless internet. The breakfast is good. Fresh juice, yoghurt, bread coffee etc. It is, compared to all the other accomodaton... More
