Vakona isn't a "real" safari, and doesn't pretend to be. It is a well-appointed lodge about 150km or four hours drive from Antananarivo, where you can encounter lemurs and crocodiles and enjoy a wonderful setting and decent food and accommodation. A great way to break up a Madagascar business trip.

Vakona is a pricey lodge by Madagsacar standards, but the service and services leave a lot to be desired.

This lodge was excellent! It is in a beautiful setting, away from the rest of the tourist accommodation in the area and is expertly created. The lodges are large and spacious, with mosquito nets and good working bathrooms.
