We travelled w/ Tom Webb (below), and fully agree. Waku is a delightful outpost of comfortable civilization in the midst of the Venezuelan Amazon jungle. The torrential spray as you are hiking behind Sapo Falls will blind you, so be prepared. If you have scuba booties to wear, they will do great. The guide is a local Indian wearing only... More

We stayed here as part of a visit to the angel falls area. It was a very pleasant surprise, with comfortable rooms and lovely views. Macaws and toucans roamed around the ground, adding to the atmosphere. The hike to Sapo falls is not to be missed; you will get very wet (wear a bathing suit) and need good footwear (running... More

Great location overlooking the falls. Lovely grounds. A good base to explore the area. Staff helpful and pleasant. Food in the restaurant adequate and plenty of it. More

We stayed for 3 days between 15th and 17th of May in Waku Lodge and our money is stolen just after our arrival. The day is 15 May 2011 between 14:00-17:00. There are cameras everywhere in Waku Lodge, but the staff does not want to show the cam records. They said the cam line is not working because of thunder... More

This is an amazing place to stay in Canaima. I stayed here a few years ago and I definitely would go back. The resort blends in with the surrounding very well and the views are incredible. The accommodations are modest but clean for it being in the middle of a rainforest. As someone already mentioned, the luxury is in the... More

As with most visitors I stayed at this lodge for one night duirng my trip to Angel Falls. The resort is beautiful with views of the Canaima lagoon and its falls. There were several exotic birds and animals wandering the premises that made the experience unique. The rooms were ok with the usual amenities. I did find a large cockroach... More

When you approach the short landing strip to Canaima lagoon, you catch a glimpse of a few waterfalls surrounded by dense jungle - and you can't help but feel a little bit excited. As soon as you're off the plane, members of the staff from Waku Lodge come out and greet you, they give you a tribal necklace (a bit... More

The gardens and the location by the side of the canaima lagoon are jaw droppingly beautiful. Stunning! Lovely! Amazing! Just come here for that. And maybe our lovely little guide - small and packed full of energy she really was good fun and loves Canaima. Passionate she was. Marvellous. Food: Lousy! Spinach and chips for supper one night. We were... More

easily the best option for the soft adventure travel experience of angel falls. Unlike so many south american must sees like MP and Iguazzu falls, the worlds tallest falls are still VERY hard to get to. Several lodging options OK for back packing 20 somethings but for adventurous families better to splash the cash and go with Waku. So it's... More

Lovely campus, almost no people, Buchannans scotch rocks is $17, mixer is another $4-5.
