We have just returned from fishing in Los Roques and stayed at La Gotera. On the plus side the staff were charming and the location wonderful being right beside the beach with pelicans diving to catch their food just next to the veranda. Great location on the beach, good breakfasts, good service and good but pricey dinner. However, the in-house bar "Artcafe" pumps out the tunes until 2.30 to 3am and it rocks through the whole hotel; so if your bedtime is any earlier I suggest you go elsewhere.
