For 6-months of the year I live out of B&B's because of my work, and in consequence my list of priorities may be different to those of others. I visited The Riverside in September of 2011 with a group of seven people from Canada, and we all found The Riverside excellent for the following reasons. I appreciate at a B&B........ More

My Girlfriend and I were visiting Ullapool for a few nights before heading further north up Scotland. We were recommended the riverside hotel by friends and to this day still stands as the best recommendation to date. We arrived at riverside to the most welcoming reception by our hosts Charlie and Linda MacRae. They immediately made us feel welcome and... More

Young couple on a B&B travelling holiday. Decided Ullapool as one of three destinations to visit. Out of the 3 places ( the others being in Fort Augustus and Oban) this was by far our favourite B&B. A warm family welcome on a wet summers day was just what we needed to lighten our spirits. The owners were more than... More

A fantastic guesthouse. Spotlessly clean and and a spacious room. A great base from which to enjoy the Ullapool Guitar Festival. The friendly owners gave us great local tips on how to get the most out of the area. Would heartily recommend and will return to again I am sure. More

We arrive in a very wet and windly Ullapool late afternoon and checked with trip advisor on the best hotels/b & b's in the area. Many of them were fully booked. We came across a gem of a place called Riverside, the only room available was a twin room, the owner allowed us to view the room before we decided.... More

I have been taking my summer holiday in the Highlands for some years, usually staying from 10 to 14 nights. I was fortunate in choosing the Riverside Hotel for my first visit and would now never consider staying anywhere else. The welcome one receives is genuine, the facilities are excellent, the entire hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is... More

Even though we arrived quite late, we were warmly welcomed. We felt very comfortable in the nice and clean room. Being in the smaller of our two rooms, our friends were even offered to move to a bigger room which became available the next day. Even though the guest house has 12 rooms, the host/proprietor (Charlie) took his time and... More

A very good place to stay. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds very comfortable. As well as good facilities in the room, there is a lounge area available to residents with a plentiful supply of hot drinks and biscuits. The owner was very welcoming and his recommendations of places to visit in the town were invaluable. The... More

We stayed in the riverside while touring the highlands. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and were given all the information we asked about. The room was large so had lots of room to move about and was very tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable . Breafast was very tastey and the service very good. The... More
