This was our third visit to Douglas House and again it did not disappoint!We have visited with an elderly parent and with a disabled friend and on each occasion nothingas too much trouble for our hosts. Couldn't speak highly enough of this wonderful hotel. Good vibe as soon as you walk in the front door. Rooms decorated to a very high level and so immaculately clean as to appear virtually new. After many years of visiting this region this is the first time we shall be returning to the same accommodation. Excellent breakfast but as the owners were English rather than Scottish it was a full English rather than Scottish! More

We can't recommend this highly enough.Efficient,friendly,immaculate tasteful decor,outstanding choice of cooked breakfast perfectly cooked.Beautifully laid brekfast table,Royal Doulton china,starched white napkins,quality cutlery. The Douglas House Hotel in Castle Douglas was a real treasure to find. It was reasonably priced and the immaculately clean room & bathroom were charmingly decorated. I would highly recommend this lovely place if you're staying in this area of Scotland. The hosts, David and Beverly Hughes, are also very accomodating and informative about the area. More
