We were a group of six on a two day walk passing through Newton Stewart and stopped off with Rob and Julie for the night. We received a very warm welcome and they pulled out all the stops to cater for our needs which was much appreciated after a long - wet! - walk. Even though 2 of our number... more

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Rowallan house while I was in Newton Stewart. The entire estate is maintained magnificiently and is in pristine condition, it was amazing spending time in the botanical garden on the footstep of the guesthouse. You leave Rowallan wanting to come back, which is something I will do in the near future! more

As soon as we arrived at Rowallan House, we felt privileged to be spending a week in Rob and Julie's home. We were invited to our order our breakfast as we checked in. When breakfast arrived each morning it was delicious; exactly as we had ordered, preferable to having a mountain of unmanagable fried food thrust in front of me... more

This was our second stay at Rowallan - no less enjoyable than the first. Thinking about the possibility of returning this winter I am moved to write this short review. Rowallan itself - the house and gardens - is lovely and the service provide by the owners is exemplary. We had a truly relaxing holiday, mainly walking in the nearby... more

I have only written one other review, and that review was to meant to commend the B&B we stayed at a couple of years ago. This time, I feel that I should write to address the shortcomings of the services we received at the Rowallan House. We were a large group of 12 who filled the entire house for a... more

We have just returned from a five night stay at the Rowallan. Rob and Julie Hart have been the owners for just over 12 months and have made the property even more pleasant than under former owners. The bedrooms are extremely quiet and very comfortable, with tv and mineral water and other drinks available in the rooms. The main rooms... more

Our first stay at Rowallan House was on our honeymoon in 1973! Over the years we have returned many times, and have never been disappointed in this lovely house, with its beautiful garden. The rooms are spacious and clean, furnished in impeccable style and equipped with every comfort. Breakfast (delicious, lots of choices!) is served in the conservatory overlooking the... more
