Beautiful old world charm, in quiet country setting. Beautifully appointed rooms, with excellent service. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant downstairs, and felt thoroughly spoiled. The only downside was poor internet and phone reception, and during our stay the hotel's internet was also down. Beds were very comfortable, our marble bathroom was huge. When we left the next morning,... More

My husband and i have visited the Roxburghe many times over a two year period as part of our wedding preperations. We chose the Roxburghe for our big day as we wanted a small and intermet wedding under one roof. We could not fault anything on our big day, everything down to the smallest detail was taken care of. I... More

I states there for some nights one year ago, as part of a fishing package. I wa sceptical up front, having heard that both the service and the Quality of the food was lacking. The scenery was great, and both food, service, cleanliness and my room served me well. Those I states together with, had been there several times before,... More

I spent a night at Roxburghe as part of excellent Land Rover MY2012 media drive. The event aside, hotel itself provides one of those old-school cosseting experiences only very old european buildings seem to be able to offer. Set within the substantial Roxburghe Estate, the place is very quiet and distant from any noises of the nearby town. My room... More

(This was our third visit) Three of us enjoyed lunch at the Hotel. We dined in the Library which is magnificent. Lovely simple lunch, 3 courses for £19 or 2 for £15.. Three or four choices for each course if I remember correctly. My pate and chutney starter was delicious as was the Seared Cod main, The others in our... More

we booked a room over the internet not knowing there was 2 options: a room inside the castle or a room in the courtyard so we were offered a room in the courtyard which was perfectly good except we could have been staying at any other nice hotel in the area and what we had wanted to do is to... We spent three nights here last week. The hotel is impressive with comfortable public rooms and a very comfortable four poster bed. We played golf twice and the course is lovely, though we would recommend a buggy for all but the keenest trekkers - the last three holes are uphill and there are a number of longish walks between holes.... I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Corporate Golf Day at the Roxburghe recently including dinner and an overnight stay. The golf course was in superb condition. Dinner was simply outstanding and the steak was amongst the tenderest and tastiest I've ever eaten. The quaility of the staff and service was absolutely first class and my large bedroom... More
