Talk about stepping back in time to a slower more peaceful place. Lacock is it. My wife and I stayed four nights at the Sign of the Angel and will remember for the rest of our days. You hear the word magical when reading about this place and its true. It reminds you of what is important in life and... More

What a fabulous place, lovely welcome, staff so laid back and friendly it really feels like you are stepping back in time, we stayed there for one night would love to return one day soon. Explored the village lovely little shops and people so friendly, really nice to know there are places like this left in England. The rooms have... More

I booked a room at the hotel and a table at the restarant for my mother's 75th birthday and it couldn't have been better. The food was superb and the hotel itself is magical. As a resident you have access to a beautiful, fire-lit sittingroom and a stream-side garden. Each of the rooms are full of old world charm but... More

I was there in July of 2007 and I still rate this as my favorite inn anywhere. I live in the US and tis not easy to manage the trip across the pond. But for me the place was magical. I loved the beautiful roosters, cats , and the dogs who ran into the kitchen for treats only to be... More

We first visited Lacock whilst enjoying a birthday present of driving a classic Austin Healey for a weekend break and fell in love with the place. Although we did not stay there at the time it was highly recommended by everyone we spoke to. We have been visiting the Sign of the Angel for a New Year break now for... More

Can't fault this Hotel, for its Character, the rooms, the staff, and the food - my god the food is heavenly! We stayed in the adjoiing "cottage", in a room with a four-poster bed - creaking floors - it was amazing.. the food is seriously out of this world; all meat was melt in the mouth..

After a slight glitch at the outset (my provisional booking appeared not to have been recorded)... we were pleased that accommodation was still available, albeit in the cottage at the back. This was adequate, rather than luxurious - with very feeble water pressure in the shower (room 7A). Rather disconcerting was at least one local cockerel, which began its (their)... More

We stayed at ‘The Sign of The Angel’ for two nights and it was a world apart, we had one of the new rooms at the back next to a field and it was very comfortable and quiet, great beds and smashing pillows and a delightful walk of about 40 yards (meters) through the garden and over the stream to... We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful pub/restaurant/ B and B! We stayed with our small daughter and could not have been made more welcome. The staff were very thoughtful and did their very best to make our stay both comfortable and relaxing. Our daughter slept soundly upstairs while we dined below and the lounge area upstairs was ideal... More

I have written nearly 50 reviews for Trip Advisor and this has to be one of the most difficult. Let me start by saying that we grew to love the Sign of the Angel during our two-night stay, but there were some areas that bothered me slightly - and that I think would bother other people. Let's start with the... More
