I have used this Hotel for drinking and dining on an almost daily basis for 10 years. An error was made last night, I made a complaint and it was rectified immediately. This is an Hotel that deserves more than its two AA/RAC stars. The food is excellent, the real ale is splendid and the staff are magnificent.

Stayed here in Oct 2011 with 2 girlfriends -- what fun! Lovely old hotel -- yes, a little rough around the ages, but charming like Fawlty Towers -- staff very pleasant and helpful! Nice breakfasts, and a nice homey pub -- would stay here again

Stayed for 1 night but ended up staying 3 nights very clean new carpets BIG room New bathroom would recommend it. Just being painted externally good facelift. Very dissapointing stay at the Cliff hotel, the room is very dated, the sofa, carpet was dirty. The toilet was dirty and blocked on arrival. The sick was unusable as it was also blocked had to use the bath! However the staff were helpfull and the bed sheets and towels were clean.
