...lovely room and very comfortable, great decor in public areas, room very warm in the depths of winter. The walls are a little bit thin so some disturbance from neighbouring guests and while the continental breakfast is good, the choice is a little limited. Bistro food is excellent, staff friendly and helpful and perfect location in town. Agree with previous... More

We ate here and I was very impressed with the food and wine. Lots of waiting staff ready to serve you, nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful venue and views. I will definitely return soon. More

I urgently had to get in touch with my husband who was staying at the hotel just for one night. It was close to midnight but there was no other way to contact him. The man who answered fumbled with the handset and sounded as if he had been sleeping. I was trying to ask to be put through to... More

My hubby and I went for a short romantic break here a few days ago. The hotel is full of character, very clean and had helpful staff. The linen and towels are big and fluffy, and the toiletries are good. The room was attractive and a good size. However, our room was right at the top of the building and... More

My husband and I have just spent the night at the Pier and it was a really fantastic experience. The welcome was very warm and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout our stay, both at reception and in the restaurant. We were staying on a DBB basis and ate in the Harbourside restaurant, where the food was first class.... More

The rooms are very well decorated with nice rainhead shower and quality toiletries. Comfortable bed and decent pillows. The bistro is better value than the restaurant and the service was good. Wifi works in the room and is free. More

this is a lovely spot to stay, the rooms are just so, well decorated, attractive, the included continental breakfast lovely, the bistro very good. Glasses of wine are expensive but probably similar to other establishments. Although they forgot our wake up call - we luckily had a phone alarm on - we did have a niggle of annoyance. When we... Took advantage of their New Year package and stayed for 2 nights. Food in main restaurant was excellent with good choices for each course. Lots of fish if that is of interest. Stayed in the annexe where rooms are very well appointed with fantastic bathrooms. Very good value for money. View was across river estuary and whilst this is a... More

A great stay in a wonderful hotel. I read some reviews before i stayed and although they on the whole spoke highly of the pier, reviews of the town of Harwich were a little off putting to say the least so i arrived with a sense of trepidation. A lot of the reviews mention a lack of places to eat... More

My fiance booked for my 40th birthday. We took advantage of the "weekend starts here " deal- dinner, bed and breakfast. He had arranged flowers for my birthday, an upgrade and champagne. We stayed in the Mayflower suite, which was amazing. Very clean, high spec and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food in the restuarant was amazing HAVE THE... More
