We have just spent a lovely Sunday night at the Museum Inn and we couldn't have been happier. Our room, The Generals, was fabulous. Large four poster, large bathroom, beautifully decorated with 2 balconies overlooking the quaint village of Farnham. The food was amazing too. The staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay if you need a... More

Happily we were the only residents on the night we stayed, so we were offered the best room at no extra cost. Having eaten here before, we knew how good the food could be, but I would say that they have improved even further...........it was outstanding. They weren't busy, but it was a Tuesday in January, and the promotion that... More

We stayed at The Museum after a recommendation from a friend and it was wonderful! The food was delicious and was equally as good as our visit to the Chewton Glen the week before. The room was a delight with nice touches such as home made biscuits, high quality bathroom products and an amazingly comfortable bed It is quite pricey... More

So very disappointed the place has no atmosphere. Food was average no wow factor & trying to be top end, why don't these wonderful old places go back to good traditional honest food and leave it to the big boys! The staff were pleasant, barman looked as though everything was hard work, would not return as we have found this... More

I am posting a review because I am so disappointed with our stay at The Museum Inn. In addition we wrote to the Museum inn after our stay and haven't even had an acknowledgement of our issues or a response. We have even sent a follow up e-mail and still no response. Not good enough! I have never posted a review on Trip Advisor before but am compelled to do so as we really disliked this place so much. We stayed at The Museum, whose website makes it out to be a hotel, it is really a restaurant with some rooms attached, as a part of our Summer trip to the west-country. We were looking... More

We had lunch in very nice surroundings service was good and the food for the main meal was excellent I had Venison and my wife had Cod, however the sweet of lemon curd mess was lacking in presentation for a weekday lunch meal costing in excess of £50 More

Really enjoyed the food at the Museum Inn, great pork belly! Good wine list too. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and efficient and the room was at the better end of what you would expect. Not cheap, but nice. More

We got lost on the way there and when we final drove up what a site I couldn't believe how quaint it looked. Talk about trading on your previous owner's hard won reputation - Vicky Elliot and Mark Stephenson built the Museum up from scratch into one of the foremost pub/hotels in the UK - two steps in looking for lunch and I suspected trouble - all the atmosphere had evaporated. The pub appeared to be full of elderly day-trippers from Poole chasing... More

There are always two sides to every story; our side is that this was unquestionably the rudest most obnoxious man we have ever had the displeasure to have enter our establishment. If he thinks that shouting in the face of a young professional waitress is the way to be accomodated, he must be from another planet. Name dropping has been... More
