We stayed here just for one night and found it very welcoming, 2 mins from the sea and 5 mins into main town. Bus from Axminster station stops virtually outside too. It is a thatched building, has an old feel inside (low beams etc), don't stay here if you like a modern place. The windows in our room weren't double... More

Well located B&B close to the centre of Lyme Regis. Decor a bit old fashioned but perfectly acceptable. Room was clean. Best rooms are the family rooms in the annexe but ours was on the first floor at the back and it was clean and quiet. One compromise at the time of booking was the continental breakfast. In the event... More

My partner & I booked in the London on the basis of on-line reviews such as tripadvisor for March 9th & 10th 2012. We drove from Kent so wanted to know we'd got a nice place to sleep. What you don't see from the brochure pictures is the corigated iron roof on the rear of the property. The room we... More

This review was posted 7 weeks after the guest's stay. Since there has been no prior contact from him it is difficult to respond now to those negative comments which needed evaluation 'on the spot'. We can only reassure readers that we care about our guests' comfort as number 1 priority and will always respond positively if we are told... More

If you're looking for a comfortable, centrally located B&B, you can't go wrong with The London Guesthouse. This 17th century accommodation is ideal for families, and the garden overlooking the sea is absolutely amazing. The owner, Jon, could not have been more helpful, and even gave us a ride to the nearby Axminster train station rather than let us take... More

Firstly, I have to agree with other posters that the proprietor John simply couldn't do enough to help. We found him to be a terrifically delightful character who really added to the enjoyment of our stay. We were allocated a room in the annexe which had a double bed, a bunk bed, and a sitting area. It was an EXCEPTIONALLY... More

It may seem ungenerous of us to quarrel with such a kind review but it is important to point out, and we respectfully hope the reviewer would agree (on reflection), that our continental breakfast is considerably more than "just cereals and toast". We serve a buffet (ie' have as much as you like') consisting of fresh melon/pineapple or seasonal soft... More

My wife and I decided to visit Lyme Regis at short notice and only booked the day before we arrived. The owner, John, was most helpful and welcoming. We had a large double room (with a couch and sitting area) in the annexe rather than the main house but it was comfortable and cosy despite the freezing cold weather! It... More

For Easter (2011) my husband, myself and shih tzu stayed at this wonderful B&B. The owners were very welcoming. Our room was very clean and tidy. There was everything you needed for a comfortable stay (tv, tea & coffee etc) The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby. I was to be an Easter Bunny at a local... More

Just back from a long weekend in Lyme Regis. The London is very well placed with a short walk to the sea front and shops. We had a family room for 4 which was very comfortable. The room opened onto the garden which had wonderful views. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend this B & B.

Lovely B&B with all you need for a pleasant stay. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, beds are cosy and very comfortable - normally I am a light sleeper and toss and turn in a new bed - not here! The breakfast buffet was great with pastries, toast, muesli, yoghurt and seasonal fruit (between 8.30am and 9.15am though). Lovely... More

Book it now, with no worries! This was the best B&B we stayed in during our 5 months of traveling. Everything was spot-on. The proprietor, John, was so friendly and accommodating. We had the perfect family room - a queen bed and a bunk bed. There is ample space for everyone's bag in the room, something we didn't find in... More
