recently stayed when the weather was terrible. luckily we were warm cosy and very well looked after by Glenda and John, our rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely as was the room we ate in and we got plenty of advice about local things. Would definitely stay here again which I think is the best recommendation anyone... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Manaton for 2 nights and we were very happy with our stay. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts, who were so friendly and gave us loads of advice on where to eat and visit whilst in Lyme Regis. Our room was very nice, clean, a good size, tastefully decorated... More

My husband, myself and our 13 year old son had a 3 night stay at Manaton just before the Easter weekend and we were very happy with everything. John and Glenda are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. We stayed in the family room which was very comfortable, the beds were lovely and great pillows!... More

I've always stayed in hotels but decided to travel late so the only option was a B&B. Stayed here recently and was really impressed. Close to everything, super clean everywhere, OK size rooms, great breakfast and lot of friendly extra local touches of the 'money can't buy' variety. Friendly owners who can't do enough for you. I have no hesitation... More

We had a two night break at Manaton and we had a lovely time. The room was very comfortable as was the bed, with lovely bed linen. The decor was to a very high standard and lots of little extras that made it homely. The hosts were great, giving lots of useful advice on places to eat, how to get... More

John and Glenda were a pleasant couple who made us feel welcome, but in our eyes their dated guest house is only suitable for a short one- night stop over because the bedrooms are so small. There was hardly any space to move around in and all we had to sit on was an uncomfortable wooden chair. Their brochure offer... More

We do not understand the comment about the house being "dated" we know that it's nearly 100 years old but the house is re-decorated every year and the room furniture is less than 9 months old. New Dormer and Out of Eden duvets and covers are less than 2 months old. The guest was originally allocated a larger room but... More

I had to cancel my booking as my husband suffered an injury.. I rang John and he was very understanding . He said he would try to rebook the room again and if so would not expect all the payment due. A few days later he mailed me that he had done this. I would never have known otherwise. His... More

My partner and myself stayed at The Manaton in early July and we were greeted by John who was extremely welcoming. He took our bags and carried them to our room and left us to settle in, After unpacking and settling in we then went to explore Lyme Regis and see what the place had to offer. John was happy... More

We booked for two nights and were attracted to the location and fairly positive reviews. The location is central but the house is situated at the top of a steep hill ! True it is five mintues to the town- downhill. The twin room was tiny and there was no room to move around the beds let alone put the... More

My husband and I travelled to Lyme Regis with 2 other friends over the Easter weekend, and stayed at the Manaton Guest House. First off, the couple who run the guesthouse, John and Glenda, could not be nicer. They were warm and friendly and very chatty, and full of excellent advice where to go and where to have a great...
