Sparrowhawk Backpackers is a small, friendly, relaxed eco-hostel within the atmospheric Dartmoor National Park, easily accessible by bus.An ideal base to explore all Dartmoor has to offer. Wldlife, archeology, high open moors and tors. Great place for cycling on and off road, hiking, climbing, wild swims, chill out picnics by ancient woodlands, stone circles and rivers. The hostel is located in the village centre with several pubs serving good food and drink just a 2mins. walk along the road. There are also a few shops and an info. centre. Moretonhampstead is a lively village and home to many artists, craftspeople and musicians so you may catch a music session in the pub and visit a gallery. The bus stop is just 2 mins walk with frequent direct buses to and from Exeter. Tains - Paddington to Exeter, 2 hr. 15min./ Waterloo- Exeter, 3hr.30min. Bristol-Exeter, 1hr. The hostel also provides secure parking for bikes and motorbikes if you arrive on 2 wheels. Cars must be parked in the public car park (free at night).
