We enjoyed Sunday lunch here and it was busy - so book! Great for the meat eaters with a substantial meal and the vegetarian was offered an extra yorkshire pud in place of meat/roasties. Lovely staff with friendly atmosphere.

Not sure I can comment on the relative merits of this place compared with other Padstow establishments. However it was clean, good value, friendly and excellent value. Stayed here for one night before walking to St Ives. A really warm welcome. The room was very good, nice decor and a good view. Staff really friendly and helpful. My wife and I stayed at this Inn for four nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience !. In a fantastic location, we found the staff extremely friendly and accommodating, and served an excellent full English breakfast each morning. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Golden Lion to anyone !.

Had an excellent two-night stay here - wanted to stay longer. In the heart of Padstow, a stone's throw from the harbour attractions. Staff were delightful - welcoming and warm, but left you alone to enjoy the stay. Room - clean and cosy. Bar food yummy and good value. Would appeal to the discerning csutomer.
