1 block to the beach. Great breakfast. Kids were free in a great room with bunk beds. The bathroom was newly renovated. It was my best shower in Scotland.

Just had a meal at 5.30pm, don't be fooled by the two course special in the window to entice you in, it is a con! When you sit down the waiter/manager rapidly takes your drinks order, I now know why - he tells us that the two course special is for pensioners only! Yet this wasn't stated on the window,...

We visited this hotel on a Sunday at 4pm for a late lunch. While the food was quite nice we had to wait 45 minutes (!!!) for it and the barman was not prepared to give any kind of discount, or even apologise for this. He said we had been informed that there would be a long wait (which we...

North Berwick has few accommodation options in the winter, and this appeared to offer good value. On arrival, it is apparent it is very small, so facilities are very limited and all rooms are relatively close to the bar. We were travelling with children and booked a family room in advance. The room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The...

Didn't stay here, but had a meal.
North Berwick town is generally an absolute tourist trap, in terms of restaurant prices.
Not so The County Hotel. Offering a wide (though typical) selection of food, it represented excellent value & was incredibly tasty.
The service was friendly & a there was a pleasant atmosphere throughout.
1 point removed for the amount...

Myself and 7 other golfers (hackers!) recently stayed at the County and had a terrific break. It was a great base for nearby courses such as Gullane, The Glen, Longniddry, Whitekirk to name but a few. Ian and his staff were very friendly and were more than happy to accommodate our requests (late bar, poker, etc!). The bar stayed open...

Visisted this 'hotel' to attend a wedding at the Marine Macdonald Hotel [which was unfortunately fully booked] Although friendly, the conditions of the room were very poor. The carpet had more stains than actual carpet colour...the bedding was clean, although basic. The room was more like a dormitory with two sets of bunk beds [one set split to two singles] The...

This town presents a nightmare scenario to the driver trying to find a parking space. The hotel has room for about five cars (three of which are taken up with the owners cars/bus.
Room was clean but pokey. I had to breath in to access the shower 'TARDIS'.
Breakfast was very poor. Cheap cereals and beverages served up with a...

Hello Bravehearted,
North Berwick is a small seaside town and like most other towns, it has fair problem with parking although their are free cars parks around the town. I'm sorry you never found a space in our own car park on arrival to our Hotel. Our mini bus does have a parking space and is used for ferrying our...

A very nice hotel without being over the top. Staff all very friendly and a beautiful full cooked breakfast. If you are a large person then the shower may be out of bounds as the entrance door opens against the washhand basin and only opens half way so be warned. Apart from that a very enjoyable stay.
We have not stayed in this hotel, however, did have an excellent meal in the restaurant. The menu is outstanding and excellent value for money. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a meal.
