We have just returned from our second stay in the Red Room at St Michael's House and again our stay was perfect. The room is so spacious and comfortable and the bed provides an excellent night's sleep. Our view from the bedroom of the beautiful walled garden is a delight and so unexpected right in the centre of this lovely... More

A beautiful big Georgian House boutique bandb with beautiful rooms, a perfect location 60 seconds walk from the quayside, and fantastic hosts whose career has been looking after travelling guests. Unfortunately we could only spare the one night but please don't tell anyone how uniquely excellent it is because I don't want it booked-up when we go back.

Stayed the 4th and 5th April with our friends, so needless to say we had this fine Guest House to ourselves. Absolutely superb, from the initial warm welcome, right through to our sad departure, sad because you wanted more. You could not wish to meet a more friendly couple of hosts in Mary and Alan, very professional but also very... More

Attentive hosts, a beautiful house, a wonderful walled garden. The attention to detail is what sets this place apart. It was faultless. The mattress on my bed was so comfortable - I over slept on the 2nd morning! The bed-linen soft and silky. The decor beautiful and understated. Most of all, I liked the feel of the house. Luxurious -... More

We stayed in the red room for two nights (weekend break). This B&B is described as luxury, and it does not disapoint! Alan and Mary are perfect hosts, happy to help with local knowledge if needed. The parking is a complete bonus for Wells. The only way we can best describe the location is that it feels like an oasis... More

I had 3 nights in the red room. The whole stay was perfect. The room was warm and comfortable. After a day of walking it was lovely to return to such a comfortable room. The breakfasts, by the log fire, were fantastic and set you up for the days activities. Alan and Mary were very welcoming and made me feel... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Alan and Mary are lovely hosts, it's just like staying with relatives. They are full of helpful suggestions, and Alan has plenty of interesting stories and antedotes to share. The breakfast was fantastic, the best we have tasted at a b&b. The homemade bread was fabulous. Our room was lovely and so tranquil considering... More

Our stay with Alan & Mary must register as one of our highlights in 2011. We had 3 nights in the Red room & can only reiterate what previous guests have said, large comfy bed, tasteful surroundings, quiet, with a large en suite & powerful shower. The "full English" breakfast was a pleasure, seated at a large table it gave... More

Stayed for two nights in the Red Room at St Michael's House and the word that kept springing to mind was "perfect". The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, with a wonderful en-suite. The breakfast was delicious - cereals, fresh fruit salad, homemade foccacia, and a superb locally sourced full English breakfast. I thought the idea of having the guests... More

We stayed in the Red Room in early September and had a wonderful stay thanks to our hosts Alan and Mary. St Michaels House is perfectly located - close enough to Wells Quay to walk there in minutes but hidden away in a quiet yard/lane. The room was very comfortable and the locally sourced cooked breakfast was one of the... More
