Do not let the title of the restaurant put you off, if first class seafood is wht you want then make tracks to Ovington and if a room is available stay over and enjoy the breakfast. How often do you get to see a great chef in action? The kitchen is open to the small restaurant so you can see... more

This is a restaurant with a difference - everyone gets a table in the kitchen. The food was cooked with precision and faultless throughout. Prior to dinig here you get the chance to talk to the chef Tina about your particular requirements. You get the rare opportunity to watch your food being cooked and to ask as many questions as... more

We genuinely felt looked after in a kind, unforced yet professional way. Breakfast was great, and the 2 dinners, nibbles by the pool beforehand, and service were all special. Fresh fish, great home made soups , and yummy desserts prepared and served by charming people -what more could you want. more

We stayed for one night at Brovey Lair, two rooms at the back of the house and a very expensive meal in a small resturant in the conservatory of the house. We had breakfast at ther same time as members of the family which didint impress us. Totally overpriced for a small bed and breakfast. more

My wife and I booked dinner and an overnight stay at the Brovey Lair, as usual I scanned the Tripadvisor reviews to get an idea of what lay ahead! It's not often I feel I have to remark on another review but the one written by Mr. Brownett (in my humble opinion) was way off the mark! The accomodation can... more

To be honest this is my first review for Tripadvisor, normally I do not feel compelled to express my opinion. My wife and I have been regular visitors to Brovey lair over the last few years.I would not really describe myself as a foodie even though have dined in quite a few Michelin stared restaurants. Quite often I find the... more

I feel compelled to comment on Pat Brownett’s review below, as the accommodation at Brovey Lair can in no way be compared to a B&B! My husband and I have stayed at Brovey Lair several times over the past five years. Every visit has been a unique experience, which is never disappointing and makes us want to keep coming back!... more

The food was good as a ptrevious review states however the bill the next morning was a shock to the system. The price for a double room for single occupation[in february]was 125 pounds.I suspect this makes it the most expensive b&b I have ever stayed in[and I have stayed in plenty]The meal, is also expensive, but just about justifiable, but the... more

Management response from
brovey, Co-owner

Pat Brownett stayed at Brovey Lair in late February. Originally he was going to bring a partner with him but changed his mind so ended up as a single at what is arguably one of the most romantic places to dine and stay in Norfolk. Had he been accompanied not only might he have had a more sexy evening but...

We arrived at Brovey Lair the home of Mike and Tina. Mike directed us to one of the two bedrooms with its south facing patio looking over their lovely garden. The large bedroom had everything you could possibly want, from a comfortable king size bed to a large well equipped bathroom both spotlessly clean and very welcoming. But the best... more
