'Greeted' by morose receptionist and given the disabled room on the first floor. Clean enough but sloping floor resulted in feet being above head in bed. As for the bed, like a pudding and small, very small. It was impossible to get any sleep. I can cope with revellers leaving the pub downstairs but that bed! Complained about it in... more

I recently stayed at the Weatherspoon's Hotel "The Globe" which is right in the city of King's Lynn, opposite the Market Place. Very friendly welcoming and explaining all do's and dont's. As the weather was very muggy, a fan was offered. The Hotel itself is very much dated, which can be seen when looking at the carpet and the room... more

Went with my partner in July 2009 for our 5-year anniversary. Was pleasantly surprised. Thought it was quite nice. Room was OK with decent bath, shower, TV etc - the only thing we didnt like was the small "double"(??) bed! We are not the slimmest people in the world, but have stayed in other hotels where the double bed has... more

We have stayed at Wetherspoon Lodges and have always enjoyed our stay, this hotel is welcoming and for what we paid O.K. BUT I am disabled and use a wheelchair most of the time and when I booked this hotel I asked if there was a lift. There is, but to get to any of the rooms from the lift... more

This place wasn't too bad- certainly better than the Dukes Head over the road although that had the advantage of parking. For the price I thought it was ok. Great central location. Room was small but clean and presentable. It seems a shame that any features of the very old and historic building have vanished. The hotel has uneven old... more

This hotel was the absolute pits!! after changing the first room we were given, because there was mildew and scruffy flooring in the bathroom, no natural light as the small window was partitioned off by a shabby plastic 'wall' leading from the bathroom to the room itself, we were given a marginally better room directly above the pub, with ongoing... more

This hotel is well located in the centre of town and provides comparable accommodation to a Travel Lodge / Premier Inn but for a few pounds cheaper. The room was a nice size with a good bathroom but just slightly shabby. Other Wetherspoons we have stayed in seemed fresher. Its 'room only' but the pub below provide exceptionally cheap food... more

The Globe was a US Airforce "Entertainment" Centre during and after WW2 well into the 50's and when visited in 1990 still retained its medieaval bits-uneven floors and all! Now its part of a chain and all that period stuff has sadly gone. You could call it character? Its on the Tuesday Market place which is timeless. The young set... more
