After a long walk from shap to Kirkby Stephen on our coast to coast walk we managed to get a couple of beds in the hostel, it's an old church converted to a hostel .what a really nice atmosphere and the welcome from Denise the lady that ran it was fantastic,great facilities and would defiantly go back.

After a long day on the C2C walk we arrived at Kirkby Stephen very late, with no reservation. Our host was very friendly and welcoming (and sympathetic). This is a very unusual property, an old church. The owner was very friendly and had a pot of tea with biscuits awaiting on arrival. Accommodation was very comfortable, and we loved the amount of space. Loved the stay and look forward to using again next time. Breakfast was lovely and enjoyed the local services in Kirkby Stephen.
