Friendly bar but were left alone a lot and had to go looking for staff. comfortable bed although room a little hot. I think owners were away when we stayed which may explain the haphazardness! Location beautiful. More

We stayed here for two nights with three other couples. The rooms are small but very comfortable. Only one or two little niggles (broken window in bedroom and bedroom furniture very MFI and the shower was temperamental) These did not detract from the extemely large and comfortable bed, the great service and the even better food! It was delicious! I... More

Stayed the night of 11/11/11. Beautiful quiet village. The hotel is homely, with log fire in the bar area. Room was a basic double but spotlessly clean, with en-suite bathroom. Comfortable bed. The food is out of this world, we had the 'Taster Menu' approx 7 courses allowing you to sample many of the dishes, encouraged us to try things... More

we were recomended to stay by some friends who had a reunion there. and we were not disapointed with our stay there. warmly welcomed by very efficient staff who showed us to our room. although the rooms are small they are well furnished with excellent beds. the food was delicious and the selection of locally brewed ale and good wine... Remembering that this is a 17th century building, the rooms were very good and well appointed although small. The food was excellent but don't forget to pack the "Rennies" as it is very rich. A slight delay in service one morning meant that we had to forego part of our breakfast due to being due on the tee at the... More

There are so many places out there, this is one to miss. We had to sit in the carpark for 1/2 hour as no-one would answer the door. You shouldn't arrive till after 6.pm Beer was off, food had to be sent back. No shower, just a shower spray on the bath. Needs complete update, and if it is surviving... More

Peaceful rural location. We included the hotel as part of a mini-cycling break. The food was delicious, the bed soft & comfortable, unlike our previous stop along the way. On top of that we were helped out by the owners husband who came to the rescue when we had bike trouble & came out & collected 2 weary cyclists when... More

We arrived after a long car ride to find the hotel was locked with a notice on the door that stated that the inn was closed between 3pm and 6pm there was no mention of this when we booked. When we returned to the inn we were asked if we were going to be eating there and we explained that... More

We had pre- booked the Barbon Inn as somewhere to rest after a lengthy walk in the beautiful nearby countryside. What a lovely place to soak our aching muscles and enjoy a glass or two of wine witha plate of hearty food.Unfortunately, this did work to plan as after one and a half hours of waiting and trying there was no... Good, friendly service. Food very good but not cheap.. OK its a bit of a treck to get to, but worth the effort. Local beer is good. I will stay again. More
