Was clean and comfy, 8KM fron Tarfa so it is a short drive, Restraunt was ok. Old bull ring behind hotel, A father and son practiced bull fighting which was fun to watch over a bottle of wine. more

We stayed here on our overland road trip to Timbuktu. Meson de Sancho is ideally placed for the early morning ferry from Tarifa to Tanger. As well as a decent restaurant where I had some good traditional Spanish spaghetti, it has a filling station where we filled the tank and all our jerries with good quality cheap Spanish petrol. Wouldn't... more

The sprawling hotel is very unique and maybe a little tired, but it adds to the history. Windows are open and breezy, an abundance of green and blooming vegetation, mountain views, built on a hillside, with heavy wood: floors, decks, etc, lots of seating areas, very quiet (some street noise) and layed back. Surrounded by so much green, reminded me... more

We stumbled upon this hotel at 10.30 at night after driving away from Algeciras, vowing never to stay in that town after the short taster that we had experienced of it. So, we were slightly tired and very thankful to find a hotel and restaurant still open. The restaurant pleasantly surprised us. The chef knocked up a fresh and plentiful... more

We met this hotel by chance. The first thing you notice is that you have to park your car and cross the dangerous curved road. You don't feel safe because cars are going very fast so this not a goood thing. The hall of the hotel is very big, staff is old but very helpfull and polite. The hotel has... more

Last year I gave this hotel a really good review and we loved it so much that we returned this year. Although it is still a lovely remote hotel we were a little disappointed with certain things. Last year we had a lovely air conditioned room, but this year we had to pay an extra 12 euros per night for... more

Have just returned from a 5 night stay at this very friendly hotel. One of the main reasons that we booked this hotel is that they allowed us to take our dog into the bedroom, and unlike a number of other hotels, didnt charge extra. The rooms were spotlessly clean, had larger than average twin beds pushed together, TV, telephone,... more

We spent 8 nights at the hotel and enjoyed the stay. I agree with other reviews about the food, it was okay but would have liked fresh veg (rather than tinned peas and French fries) with my steak. Prices were okay - 12 Euros for veal, 8 for 1/2 chicken. Our room had a lovely view down a valley and... more

We chose this hotel since its review on the internet was positive in general. The hotel sector and lounge are quite enjoyable. A little bit rustical but fine when the fireplace is on and when outside the clouds hang down on the mountain road (from Tarifa to Algeciras). It did not harm since you don't have a view on the... more

Briefly the accommodation was much better than anticipated, but the food much worse. The hotel is on the busy main road between Cadiz and Algeciras but the design is such that road noise does not intrude into the rooms. It is full of atmosphere and although the design is from the 1950's - maintenance is good and in fact the... more
