If you are looking for a Spanish Taverna style hotel, quiet, totally Spanish cooking, a place to practice your lingo without staff automatically reverting to English, then I would recommend this hotel 200% (staff really don't speak much English at all - perfect!). We stayed for a week and had a great time travelling the beautiful surrounding area however despite the reception staff being extremely helpful and the maids delightful, we found the two main waiters rude and sarcastic at times. my initial feeling when arriving at the hotel was dissapointment, it seemed quite close to the busy road. hotel rural almazara is a very good base to tour this area , just of the motorway between nerja and frigiliana ,both beautiful places ,car essential ,as footpaths are non existant . small very clean ,good staff ,food excellent .lots of little beaches to discover .would return more
