This is a good value retreat from the bustle of life. Georgian house beside a lake. Very good service b&b and they can organise dinner as well. Most of the rooms are of good quality. Showers are hit and miss. Water sometimes doesn't come through. But the atmosphere of the place is excellent, old world. You can row onthe lake... More

My partner and I had a one night stay here in april and enjoyed every moment of it. We were sorry we didnt plan to stay longer. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the gardens and soaking up the evening sun in the gazebo. We also took the boat out onto the lake which was incredibley relaxing. The service from margeret... This is rare and my enthusiasm reflects the fact – out of date, but fresh, dark but lit with a welcome that exists almost nowhere in the world today. What do I mean – I am talking about the scene of a ninety one year old man formally, cordially presenting himself with a supple handshake, and a formal speech, so... More

My husband and myself only spent one night at Ashley Park House - in mid December - and enjoyed it immensely. We are Australian so it was all very different for us in terms of the house, surroundings etc. We were in the Presidents Room; the bed was really comfortable and getting in to the warmth of the electric blanket... Ashley Park, built circa 1710, could be the setting for a romantic film or an historical novel. Peacocks stroll the gardens and guinea hens run around in the kitchen garden. Surrounded by a vast wildlife park by the edge of a private lake, the lovely old manor is owned by a remarkable ninety year old man whose son was managing... More

After dinner I went up to my room with my pre-heated sheets (which was the most comfortable thing ever)... More

Brilliant location with a long drive to the house. If you need peace and quiet this is the place to go. Beautiful house retaining all of the previous century's charms and atmosphere. I have never been so well looked after during my stay, the staff were lovely. Food exceptional ! Would definately recommend.
