We booked an apartment at fairly short notice as a treat for my Mum without checking for any references and I was worried about where we would end up however I can honestly say that the whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish! Aimee, who provided a lovely friendly welcome on our arrival explained how everything worked, where... More

We stayed in the Granary, a beautiful, spacious house for 8 nights. We loved the walled in courtyard, hot tub and sauna across the garden. We found Markree a wonderful maintained castle with a welcoming lobby and open fire and a restaurant full of character overlooking the garden. The manager in Homefarm was very welcoming and friendly. Markree castle is... More

Americans aren't used to self-catering short-term rentals, but the 8 of us found our 2 nights at Markree Homefarm to be a wonderful experience. We had two 2-bedroom apartments in the old stables and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to cook for ourselves after a quick trip to the bustling Tesco in Sligo. Walking to the castle for drinks before dinner... More

These apartments are fantastic. We booked about 8 of them recently for our wedding, as the castle could not hold all our guests. At first I was worried that they would be small and dingy and that my guests who we had to put in the apartments might be upset at not getting a room in the castle, but how... More

Just back from 3 nights B and B in a 3 bed apartment in Homefarm. My wife and 3 young children were treated to fabulous service and astonishing value for money. From the moment we arrived Amy our hostess was very attentive and made absolutely sure we were comfortable. We requested more logs for our open fire on day 2,... More

I had never heard of Markree Castle and hadn't visited Sligo on nigh on 30 years when I saw a special offer of b&b for 49 euros in local press. For my birthday my husband booked a night (rather than our usual foray to Donegal which usually is 50 euros plus for the run of the mill) as a treat... More

Top class finish to these fabulous apartments and a the staff are an absolute riot. We stayed here for a week with friends and it was a shame to go out of an evening as it really was a home-from-home. We ventured to the indoor hottub on several occaisions but that had to be done! The apartments and houses are... More
