Stayed here for a night as myself and my partner were attending an awards ceremony in the Carlton Shear water hotel (it's down the road) there were no rooms left so we decided to stay here. Ok the lobby was nice and some what clean apart from the over powering smell of lavender spray which caused me to go into... More

Stayed here for one night last week. I knew the hotel would not be plush or luxurious due to the price. The hotel is very run down and dated, it is more of a pub with rooms above it. We had a carvery lunch in the restaurant which wasn't great at all, the meat was overdone and the potatoes had... More

Stayed for two night over the August UK Bank Holiday. Have stayed here before, it has always been a little dated but the service and the staff normally made up for the poor quality rooms. Not this time. On checking in, we were told that there was a high school, graduation and it would be noisy but we could always... More

Stayed in Haydens when it used to be the only hotel in town and recently revisited it, after a few change of owners it looks to be getting back. Resonable prices and a great bar. Well worth a visit rather than overpriced options

I have been going to Haydens for decades (not sure Lynch still own it),and it is a shadow of its former self, the bathrooms need more than a little TLC but the beds were comfortable and the linen crisp and clean, we helped ourselves to extra pillows from the stores and the pillows themselves were spotless. The breakfast was ample... More

Stayed here while attending a wedding in a nearby hotel. The hotel where the wedding was on was wildly overpriced. So we decided to stay in Haydens, It was perfect for what we needed. A place to lay our heads for the night. It worked out well, no problem getting in at 5 in the morning. We were even offered... More

Arrived to hotel, down stairs nice, but up stairs in bedrooms, dated. Everything in room, but dated. On arrival after a conference in town, went to have shower, no hot water. Next morning same experience. My colleague who was in a nearby room had the same experience. When we told the staff at front desk, they said they were aware... More

Very reasonably priced in a great location to attend conference at the vastly overpriced and unfriendly hotel down the road Huge breakfasts, gorgeous dinner, the hotel is a little bit dilapidated but very charming, The staff are fantastic, friendly helpful and laid back atmosphere

On arrival the staff were friendly. I had explained my stay was to get some SLEEP with my young boys as we had to be away from the hotel by 4am. The room smelt damp and foisty. After going to bed early we were still awake at 12.30 am as the noise was horrendous from the private party and the... More
