Staff could not have been more helpful. Helped us with booking tours and gave lots of great advice. Rooms were a decent size. We ate at the restaurant and had great meals at not over the top price. Country hotel in good location as a base for travelling in the South. Clean rooms. No radiator in bathroom so difficult to dry clothes. Stayed at Hotel Hekla for two nights during a four day holiday in Iceland. staff,food and accommodation were excellent.The hotel was very cosy and had a nice bar to have a drink before dinner.There was also a hot tub outside if you felt the need!

Stayed here for two nights with a group. The hotel has recently been taken over and the new owners are intending refurbishments which is a good thing because it's very dated. Having said that, the beds are very comfortable, if short on pillows, and I slept well (apart from waking up to false alarms for northern light sightings!). Restaurant service... More

Rooms spacious and bathrooms although small are modern. Excellent evening meals and good buffet breakfast (no hot option). Friendly and helpful staff. Warm and cosy lounge. Great location for exploring fantastic areas in South Iceland
