Been a long time since I stayed here. It is better than years before. An interesting old hotel with quite a history. Reasonable off season rates, in my opinion. Don't let the outside of this historic beauty fool you; the inside has layers of gaudy paint and there has been a lack of old-fashioned elbow grease. The showers in the lovely claw-foot tubs leak causing flooding to your neighbors below. The famous Crystal Dining Room's crystal chandeliers have lost their sparkle to layers of dust and grime. We went to the hotel to stay for a wedding that included lots of relatives. The hotel was beautiful and faithfully restored. The area was nice too but in January there were lots of "See you in March" signs. We have stayed at other historic hotels and enjoyed them very much but this was the only one that allowed us... more
I loved being a part of history. The old hotel is well-preserved. Unfortunately, I picked the day that the leader of the ghost tour decided to resign. However, the bellman did a yeoman's job of filling in part of the ghostly stuff on his tour of the building, which was a great tour. more
The people at the Cresent was very helpful starting with the check in all the way through the check out process. We stayed in the Annex Suite. Stayed at the Crescent for the first time. The hotel has a lot of character. Enjoyed the Ghost tour. The history of the hotel is very interesting. The Sunday brunch was the best I've had. Highly recommended. more
