At the entrance to the driveway is a white bicycle which is a little message about the owner of the chateau. In 1976 Raymond Delisle became champion of France and his study contains loads of photographs and a multitude of medals and cups which he won on the professional cycling circuit. The Chateau dates back hundreds of years and has... More

I spent one night in this castle with my two young kids and we all loved it. Very nice garden and great breakfast with local products.

I arrived at the reception of the chateau and Mister Delisle gave me my key, then he accompanied me in my room. The room: The decoration completely excéptionnel, because the style was very well to the century of this castle. The meal: The meal it is unwound in a big room, deserving of a room of meal, with one decorations... More

My partner and I stayed here for two weeks on a nos recibe offer where accomodation was supposedly free and we each had to spend 89euro a night on food/ drink. We arrived and were impressed by the avenue leading up to it and the buiilding itself. We were met by the owner who was extremly unfriendly , showed us... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chateau de la Roque, but I can see why some non-french visitors might not appreciate it so much. The setting is glorious, and the rooms offer some great styles, although in what you might call "faded elegance", and certainly not all mod cons. I am half french, and found the style typically traditionally french,... More

I have stayed twice at Chateau de La Roque which means I went back for more! It is a totally different experience. You can't expect 5 star modern bling at a very old Manor House. The first time I was there I was with my husband and two teenage sons - the second time I went back and took a... More

The chateau looked lovely as we approached along its tree-lined drive. However, the interior was not so impressive. The entrance hall and office stank of dogs (I am a dog owner and lover myself so I have nothing against dogs). We rented two rooms, both of which were musty and dated. The walls were covered in fabric rather than wallpaper;... More

Our two rooms in the hotel were fine and a nice size; however, one bathroom was ever so small. The breakfast was okay with the typical french breakfast assortment of cheeses, breads and possibility of a hard boiled egg. The dinners were very good. My children loved the fact that there were friendly dogs running around the grounds and chateau.... More

Arrived at chateau after long drive only to find car park far away from original building. Greeted by the hosts who were not very happy that we decided to skip on dinner. When enquired about some coffee told facilities were in room, not really the welcome we are used to when staying in these privately owned chateaus. Room a good... More
