Very cute place - felt historic. They have done a good job updating the old buildings without compromising the historic nature of the building. We only stayed one night because the weather was cold and there is no heat in the rooms. More

Staying at Newa Chen was one of the highlights of our trip to Nepal. This is a truly historic home and the restoration has been lovingly done. Rooms and service were excellent. Morning breakfast was quite good. The inn's location is just minutes away from the historic districts of Patan. As far as we were concerned, this is the best... More

like much of the old style Nepalese construction, you gotta watch your head when going through doors - and in many rooms even standing up straight! i'm 6'5 (198 cm or so), and bumped my head a couple times, but its a small price to pay for a genuine Nepalese experience. Kathmandu's lodging options are pretty terrible unless you want... More

I stayed in this wonderful historical home for 5 nights (16th to 21st November 2011)Mr. Shrestha and all the staff, especially Rashita, were so kind and helpful. My room was on the second floor, the name of the room Kalas, large room with double bed and a sitting room overlooking the garden. Having problems with my knees they very kindly brought... More

it is a great traditional building. I wish i had the chance to stay for more days to enjoy it. In the heart of the historical Patan, just 2 minutes from Patan Durbar square you can find a peaceful and relaxed place. Worth for value....definitely!!! I' ve been there for my last day in Nepal. If i knew how beautiful... More

The Newa Chen family were kind enough to let us stay for 2 and a half months whilst working for an NGO in Lalitpur. In this time, we stayed in three of the eight rooms - each was wonderful. Each room varies in size, facilities and price making it a great place for a range of expenditures. The building offers... More

We absolutely loved this place. The only downside was that we only managed to stay one night!! The place feels authentic and traditional. It has been loving restored and it is just wonderful to stay somewhere with so much character. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed every minute. There's a wonderful garden area and a place to... More

I stayed here for almost 3 weeks in total while working for a local NGO. I tried out 3 rooms in that time so got a pretty good feel for the place. The owners are absolutely lovely and and always happy to help. They provide a top notch breakfast, which generally consists of western and eastern foods so there's always... More

I stayed at Newa Chen for 1 night at the end of my stay in Nepal. I was met by the friendly and lovely owner who offered me tea. My room was clean, they supplied several free bottles of water and fruit in the room, they had toilet paper and the bathroom was actually nice. Newa Chen was a very... More
