It has always been a great place to let loose and have fun. If you're wanting the Ritz or "Yuppie Central" go somewhere else. The river is for laid back people that love to have a great time and don't need to impress.

Over the years, I've stayed at Martinez and during a recent visit, I could not help but notice that although there is some more paved roads, the cost to stay at these bare bone cabins is a rip off. $70.00 per night to stay in a room that has little comfort, dirty, doors don't lock very well. One night, they... More

I may have not been there in some time but if someone reads this then believe my words. Go to Martinez for fun. The sand bars are top notch which is my opinion the greatest feature of the place. You can choose to stay in the crap holes, (which is where I like to go) or you can do your... More

It is definitely not a resort - it is a trailer park and a very down and out one at that. I came here with my 70 and 72 year old parents for a two week stay. Crumbling concrete trailer pads, abandoned trailers with windows smashed out, garbage such as rusted out BBQ's laying around. It is very poorly maintained.... More

For those that are looking to visit Martinez, you have to know what you're in store for. You come here to boat, drink, fish, and hangout with friends. All you need is a bed, a/c, and shower. The "resort" provides all three. This is not a five-star resort. The rooms are dirty and run down, but we like it (how... More

We came out to Martinez to party on the river for 4th of July weekend. The river was great - fun times, good people. The resort we stayed in was horrible!! Holes in the ceiling with exposed nails, horrible odors, cockroach infested, tiles were loose (or completely missing in places), door fell off the hinges, intermittent loss of power (no... More

Evan as a fish camp, this place is bad. The restaurant is OK, but the best thing for cabins and docks is to catch fire! Look at the photos of the $100 a night cabin.

I recently read the reviews on this site about lake martinez, and then made a trip their anyway. Boy am I glad I didn't listen to the reviews. I stayed in one of the "cabins" they offer and was very pleased with it. It was located one block from the water and across the street from the bar/cantina. It is... More

I visited Martinez Lake years ago, and since then have visited fishing "resorts" all across the USA. They all have a common thread, including Martinez Lake. Varying state of decay they call it "rustic" The cabins have had everything from pee to bongwater spilled in them, that is a fact, so keep your shoes on and don't fall down. Very... More

I am as floofy as they get. 4 star hotels are a pre-requisite for ANY trip for me...with one exception. Martinez. When it comes to this place-which I have been coming for many many years, the only thing that matters is that you have a shower, a refridgerator and that the AC works. Bring your own blankets & pillows and... More
