We booked a room in one of the hotel buildings at Maswik for a one-night stay at the South Rim. It's too long a drive from Williams, so if this is the only place with a room, stay here. But, if you can book elsewhere, go for it. I think we were in building five, which was hard to find... more

Let's face it, you're there to see the canyon. Not to lounge about in your room. And the location to the south rim of the canyon is spectacular. Check was smooth and the rooms, while perfectly adequate, are a bit dated. Bed was not exactly comfortable and the bathroom was miniscule. Overall, it's basic motel-style accommodation and I was not... more

Stayed 1 night in September when we were heading from the North Rim back to Las Vegas. We stayed upstairs in the Pinyon building and the room was very spacious with all the facilities you would expect - TV, fridge, nice bathroom (with great shower). Our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer. We did manage to see... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in late October 2009. The rooms are good-sized, clean, and bug free. There was a very strong odor upon entering that nearly knocked me over but I quickly became used to it. Since the whole Park seems to have a "camping" vibe I saw no reason to complain or change rooms. For the location,... more

This is where you go when you forget to book early. We were in the motel-like rooms, not the cabins. It's not that the rooms were too rustic, they just felt cheap and worn. The bathroom was like a small hallway cut in half. The AC/fan worked well which was nice after hiking. The TV was cheap, beds OK. I... more

Feels like Xanterra's just sitting pretty and over-charging people who don't want to have to drive in and out of the park every night. The bath tub was chipped and there was some mold on the sides. The toilet was dirty, and everything was old! The restroom was tiny and the floor seemed dirty. The sink kept getting clogged. The... more

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the convenience of the proximity to park You were so close the the bright angel lodge out our back door. Be sure to request a first floor. there are no elevators. We had tons of room with our 2 queen beds , refridge and lots of light to read by. The lodge... more

Maswik Lodge is simple and a bit rustic, which I think adds to it's charm. Nice, clean rooms and bathrooms, no problems with having too little space. Everything is within walking distance - the Grand Canyon, cafeteria, and gift shop. I enjoyed my stay and would come here again. more

Maswik Lodge is a bit overpriced, but atmospheric, comfortable & most certainly ecologically friendly (+ GRAND CANYON & the free bus shuttle are just a 5 minute walk away). more
