This hotel is located right by the water. Room 8 or 10 have the most beautiful views. They do get a bit noisy at night as people go by. The hotel is a little bit out of the way from the center of town, the walk to it is quite interesting, you cannot drive a car, maybe a tuk tuk... More

Right on the lake and a bit out of the way. To get there from the Panajachel dock, one must turn left, walk past one block, and turn down a narrow and very uninviting alley. This alley is the entry into the gringolandia part of San Pedro, and at its end is the entry path to Mikaso. Walk past the... More

I spent a few days in this hotel in a room looking over Lake Atitlan. The view was great and the natural surrounding too, but the hotel overall did not do it for me. This is a very primitive or low key place in Guatemala and maybe I was expecting more. For sure there are people that probably like this... More

Stayed at mikaso for one night only. It is located on the quiet side of San Pedro away from the noisy streets. The room was very decent, if you pay a little extra you can get direct lake view. Internet service is only available in the restaurant ( has amazing view) and it is open from 7 am to 9pm.... More

We could see the hotel from the water upon arriving in San Pedro, but it is a little hard to find without help. There is a long path down to the hotel and there isn't much of an entry presense. The hotel was very busy, so we had to wait around on the dirty old couches while a room was... More

We stayed here for one night. The views from the hotel' terrace are beautiful, the food was pretty decent (mostly Western style food), and it's located close to Santiago pier. We stayed in the room with no view - it was quite dark, you could hear any slightest noise - so the walls are very thin. When we arrived around... More

This hotel was probably the best hotel in San Pedro but the rising water level is slowly changing the deal. Indeed have the lake waters started rising for 3 years now at an alarming rate and when I visited it already swallowed a couple of buildings of the hotel forcing the owner to move the dorm from a nice location... The hotel is a characterful building with a huge potential, but it definitely needs some maintenance work. The rooms (we have stayed in two) desperately cry for fresh paint. Room no. 6 on the ground floor is quite dark and contrary to what was promised, there's no hot water. When I touched the switch on the shower, I got an... More

Stayed three nights at Hotel Mikaso. Would have stayed longer, too. Amazing food and coffee and drinks at very reasonable prices. Unbelievably friendly and helpful people at the hotel. Super views!!! Surrounded 360 degrees by mountains and volcanoes. At night you can see so many stars! As well, the lights from Panajachel, San Marcos, San Juan, San Pablo, and more!... More

I admit I wasn't sure to make of the Mikaso at first: it took them 4 days to respond to my email, then once I responded they didn't complete my reservation and no longer had the room available for my stay. The bathroom was so small you had to step over the trash can to get to the toilet. Nobody... More
