My recent stay at the Clarendon was pleasant but there were a few bumps and quirks. When I checked into my room I looked around to check the time and there was no clock. I called the front desk and the really nice guy at the desk immediately brought one up, at 9 o'clock at night. The rooms are nice,... more

I will keep it factual. Upon check-in I was not told that my credit card would be pre-approved for "any incidentals that may occur", I was told the bar would be open until 12am, it was closed at 10pm, by an undertrained bartender. Wi-fi was only available in the hotel lobby, it would not connnect in my room or at... more

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. Your credit card is always authorized for the amount of your hotel stay plus 15%, or if you pre-paid for your room, $50. There's a lot of credit card fraud out there, and this is done for both the protection of the hotel and for the consumer. For...

Loud buzzing noise at night, never figured out what it was. Air conditioner did not operate properly. Light by bed burned out. Fitness Center was just two small rooms crammed with weight machines, for the most part. Looked more like a storage facility for equipment. Treadmill was cheap. WiFi did not function. A few days after returning home I checked... more

Thank you for your review - what room number were you in? I'd like to know so that we can investigate the buzzing noise and see why the a/c system was not operating properly - we have a brand new state-of-the-art system and I want to test it to make sure it is working and get the installers out if...

My husband and I stayed at the Clarendon for 2 nights during our Arizona honeymoon and even a year later, a couple of things stand out. We stayed there on the recommendation of a friend of mine who lives in Phoenix. She told us that if she were to visit the city, she would want to stay at the Clarendon.... more

Thank you so much for your review - we really appreciate the compliments on the pool area, it's a favorite spot for many of our guests! Regarding your other comments, you'll be happy to know we've made some improvements that should make your next stay picture-perfect: * we've added additional wireless routers which have virtually eliminated any dead-zones; * the...

Colors: For sure, psychedelic to say the least, but in the end the colors just mask an attempt at poor renovations. Pool: Cold, cold, cold and full of colors, (see above) Room: Dark, poorly renovated but clean. Weird window coverings, did I say dark? Bed: Comfy, headboard making noises at any time with ANY movement, not necessary “THAT” movement, clean... more

Thank you for your review - I'd like to respond as we've made recent improvements. I noticed that your review states that you stayed at The Clarendon in October, but I'm not sure if that's accurate as some of the things you mention have been improved upon... * Colors - we've updated the colors of the rooms and have repainted...

The Clarendon Hotel in Phoenix is a great hotel. In this economy no company will allow a $300 per nite stay. The Clarendon is value priced in the low $100's and is real find! Don't miss sitting at the rooftop lounge to see the best view of Phoenix at nite. The pool area is one of the best in town... more

I stayed here in July and again in September. My stay in July was great, I was so thrilled to find a "cool" hotel in this part of town, where I like to stay to be close to my client's location. The rooms are stylishly decorated with some funky touches, large and comfortable. I loved the pool area and the... more

My husband and I were able to stay at The Clarendon during Phoenix Fashion Week, m client was showing and we wanted to be close to the venue but not too close so we wouldn't have to deal with traffic. It was recommended by a friend of mine who also recommends it to his family and friends. When I first... more

It's not a diamond in the rough but its a gem just the same. Very convenient to the light rail, a short walk up the street with access to some great eating/drinking spots (Pane Bianco for a sandwich) Renovation consists of a LOT of paint of varied colors in all public areas. Rooms are somewhat minimalist - hate the bathrooms... more
