This place was just OK. My favorite thing was the room size and my least favorite was the service. We had the suite and it was big. I only paid $100 for this room so I wasn’t expecting much but the size was impressive. Otherwise the room was dated, but clean. Some missing paint here and there, the toilet didn’t quite flush right, old carpet, but it was acceptable. The service was definitely lacking. From the service without a smile at check-in to the weird breakfast janitor who playfully but aggressively scolded my infant for eating messily, everyone we interacted with seemed like they hated their job. This place really needs to get itself together service-wise. It’s cheap but I’d skip it next time. There’s lots of other choices in Phoenix.

The staff was very professional, welcoming, hardworking, and kind. From the minute we arrived they treated us like it was our home away from home making sure we felt our needs were taken care of. I booked from Hotwire so it was within our budget and close to public transportion(light rail) from the airport to hotel to Midtown close to museums, resturants, and delightful historic district. Yes the rooms show some wear but we found it clean and comfortable. The included breakfast had lots to choose from for everyone and was well stocked. The pool and hottub were down for maintence but it was too cold to swim anyways. :) Thanks for all your hardwork!!

What a horrible, filthy little hotel. Absolutely disgusting. I am a Platinum Elite member with Marriott and was never greeted as such, to start with. I asked to have my room cleaned daily. I was there for a week. They never cleaned the room once. The shower leaked and would not fully shut off, so everything got wet and the room stank as a result. The receptionist offered to remove the towels from my room but came at a later time to which we agreed and barged in without knocking, catching me indisposed which was very embarrassing. The room had Queen beds so I was able to use the second bed when the first bed became too dirty. The garbage, of course, was never emptied so it just kept piling up. Unbelievable! Everyday I ask for my room to be cleaned and it never got cleaned once. Dirty towels everywhere. I even called up Marriott Corporate and left a message for the Hotel Manager and nothing. They did not care. Pure incompetence. In fairness all Hilton and Marriott hotels are not cleaning rooms daily unless requested daily. I feel strongly that I pay for a clean room and want my room cleaned daily. Most of the time they comply or at least most of the days I get my room cleaned. Hotels have really become terrible about this. However, some hotels are better than other and this filthy, dirty hotel is the worst. Should be shut down. Hey, Marriott, you want to operate a cheap, filthy, dirty hotel? Go right ahead. I will share my experience and I have the pictures to show it. See attached.

This hotel is old, which is fine, but it needs a deep clean and some maintenance work. The amount of dust/dirt on the light switches and fixtures was gross. The blinds are dirty. The whole hotel, with the exception of the bed linens, was dirty. The gym is tiny and barely any equipment was working. Overall, I just would pick somewhere else next time.

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY This hotel is old and in dire need of refurbishing! Tiles were chipping off near our shower and next to the fourth floor elevator!! Tub needs replacing! Room felt well-used! The check-in desk gal was happy and helpful! DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND

Second weekend in a row we were in Phoenix to visit our kids. We stayed at a different hotel the previous weekend but wanted something closer to downtown this time around. We chose this hotel. It is in a great location. Minutes to Roosevelt Row and other areas for great restaurants. Close to the airport, and about 20 minutes to both Scottsdale, where our son was, and to North Phoenix, where our daughter lives. Probably 20-25 minutes to nearby Chandler and Gilbert. We checked in at about 12:30 pm on a Saturday and were allowed to go to our room immediately, which was nice in the 114 degree heat. The young female clerk was efficient and pleaseant, if not overly friendly. we had asked for and were given a room on the 2nd floor. The room was average size, with two queen beds, and clean. They give you four pillows, which I really like. The beds were quite comfortable, and I slept well both nights that we were there, though the second night I awoke at 4:30 am, for some reason. The AC worked great, and the shower water pressure was good. They do have a complimentary breakfast, which we didn't partake of the first morning, but did the second morning. It's your standard fare: scrambled eggs, [Canadian] bacon, cereals, juices, coffee (just OK), yogurt, and pastries The dining area is spacious. Also, there is a gym and a pool. Be aware that they do charge for parking, $7 a day. I'm not crazy about that, as our hotel last weekend did not charge. However, for this downtown area, other hotels charge more, so you probably won't escape a charge. If we wanted to stay again in this area of Phoenix, we would probably stay here again.

Bed was comfortable and hotel was clean. It’s an older hotel but not musty. The rooms are quite large. Downside was I didn’t care for the breakfast it was mediocre compared to other places I’ve stayed and you have to pay to park and if the hotel is busy I can’t imagine their would be enough parking spots for everyone.

My wife and I took a short-notice 2 day trip to Phoenix as we had some time to kill this past week, and this was the most affordable Marriott property in proximity to downtown. As far as the basics go, it was a perfectly acceptable hotel. The staff was friendly during check in. As a Bonvoy Platinum member they happily gave me my welcome points and my guaranteed late checkout. The bed was comfortable, pillows were ok (a little too soft for my liking but that's just preference), and the room was clean and had plenty of space. All of my issues with this hotel are "details" things, and there are many details that seem to have been overlooked. The room was oddly humid given that it's almost summertime in Phoenix. Outside was perfectly dry, but walking into this room felt like we were halfway to Florida. It had that "wet" smell to it as well. Not a major problem but just something that you'd think the cleaning staff might have noticed and mentioned to maintenance. They only gave us 2 towels. No hotel room should ever have less than 4 towels - 2 per person. The bathroom counters looked updated, but the shower/tub itself was certainly not (though it did appear clean other than signs of color fading from years and years of use, just very dated). The main room door rubbed against the carpet when opening, requiring a good amount of force to push it all the way open. The lobby could definitely use a remodel. Again, all details. Was it fine for a 2 day stay? Absolutely. But next time I'm in Phoenix, I'd probably check out another similarly priced Marriott property (there were 1 or 2 that were only slightly more expensive) to see if they're a little more updated before returning back to this one. Certainly not advising you NOT to stay here, if you just need a basic hotel to sleep a couple of nights it will certainly do that job for you. But if you prefer something a little more modern, there are better options for you.

This was the best Marriott experience I've had in years. The room was large, clean and comfortable, as was the lobby. The front desk staff was genuinely friendly and helpful instead of operating by rote. SARAFINA and LEON provided excellent customer service. The breakfast is actually good. Packaged fare remains since the pandemic, but the quality of it was quite desirable. The Swiss cheese and spinach crustless quiche was excellent. The jalapeno muffin was very good. The sugared waffle was okay. There were three kinds of salsa and four kinds of milk, including oat milk. There were also the usual of offerings of cereal, juice, coffee, etc. The location is super convenient. It's one block from a light rail stop, on a bus line, close to Heard Museum, Safeway, CVS, and a short light rail ride and walk from Whole Foods and Pemberton PHX. There's a good Thai restaurant up the street. There are other eateries nearby which I didn't frequent. Cons - old 70s furniture, deathly quiet neighborhood
