We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Calafate area. Kau Kaleshen was clean, breakfast was yummy (make sure to try the medialunas) and the front desk staff went above and beyond. This hotel is not cheap but not expensive either. The rooms are simple but effective. And the courtyard area is enchanting. My wife was very dissapointed because... more

The Hostería is well located in the centre of El Calafate, right next to the main avenue of the town (where most banks, restaurants and shops are). The Hostería is just a normal place to discover the area and the National Park. The rooms are small, located in an adjacent building to where the reception is located, and with the... more

The location of this hosteria is hard to beat. Many hotels in El Calafate seem to get by on the fact that many visitors are, apparently, content to simply shuttle between hotel and glacier and go no further. As such, hotels have sprung up in all sorts of odd, out of the way locations. This is understandable insofar as El... more

We loved the charm of this small hotel, with its tasteful decor, lovely common room, and tranquil green central garden. The location couldn't have been better, one block off the main street, so it was quiet, but close to everything. We were surprised at the quality of the stores and restaurants in town, better than in most of the spots... more

This is a lovely place, full of character and in a great location. The rooms are small but have everything one needs, anyway you're not in El Calafate to stay in your room. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they gave advice and pre-booked tours for us before we arrived which was a great help. A visit to Estancia... more

Kau Kaleshen was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The room was ample, but sound from adjacent rooms was a bit bothersome. In exploring around the town, it seemed other places were just as nice but lower priced. Does have a nice central garden. more

We were wonderfully surprised at Kau Kaleshen and El Calafate. The building is attractive, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff was extremely helpful in booking tours. Also, the location is great, only a block from the main street. El Calafate had many good restaurants and bars, so the proximity to the town afforded by this hotel was... more

My wife and I, a 30ish couple from Brazil used to travel overseas, stayed for 3 nights at this great Hosteria in Calafate. It was not our first option, but we booked only 6 weeks before our stay for New Year's Eve. We were hoping for a new (not refurbished), spotless clean, quaint, spacious room not in the main street... more

Kau Kaleshen is a charming, small hosteria in the center of El Calafate. I had the good fortune to find it, by reading in and between the lines on the Trip Advisor posts about the hotel, and stayed there with my husband and 20 year old daughter for 4 nights in December, 2008. I made all arrangements via email with... more

Hotel is clean and simple and very well located (one street back from the main drag, so quiet, yet close to places to eat, shop, buy groceries etc.). Mariano, at the front desk, was always welcoming and helpful. For the price, which appears to be reasonable by El Calafate standards, it is a perfectly reasonable place to stay, but don't... more
