“Best place to stay in Calafate”

What a beautiful place to relax for few days. Well equiped cabanas, amazing view (with sunset !) and very welcoming and helpful owners. And all of that for a very reasonable price in Patagonia. Well, go, go, go !!!

Four of us stayed at one of the cabanias (bungalows) at Cerro La Matilde in January. The site is about 1.5 km away from El Calafate town centre near the lagoon where you can see Chilean pink flamingoes. This a great accommodation for El Calafate, if you are with a bigger group (at least 4). There are a few wood cabins near the lagoon, the location is great, but is far from the city, you need a car or you have to come with a cab. We loved the location, we did not think is a disadvantage.
