The public spaces in this hotel are gorgeous which is why I think our room was so disappointing. It felt a little spartan by comparison. I did love the free tea / coffee and scones in the afternoon and the free wine in the evening. A nice touch. The people were helpful but sometimes a little direct. Very close to... More

Unfortunately, a lot of the comments I've read on tripadvisor are still true. It is near the center, that's convenient. The website is very promising but in contrast to reality. Here our findings: - small room with a terrible bed. We had to move the pillows to the foot end - continuous loud complex opera music in restaurant and at... More

The hotel itself looks charming, with old fashioned furniture, wooden floors and a 'secret' door in the library. It is also near the main street in a quiet location and the staff is friendly. Our room also was quaint but it also felt unclean: very old carpet with stains, broken tiles and lampshape in bathroom. The bathroom was outdated anyway,... More

I booked this hotel having looked at their website and naively not having read the trip advisor reviews. What a mistake and I am writing this to save others a poor experience. The hotel is dated (to the extreme), ugly and has poor decor. The wooden floors are noisy and wake you early as guests tread the corridors (probably trying... More

We were only here three nights, 2 and 1, in transit to/from Chalten - wish we'd put one of those days toward Chalten, generally, as it has Calafate beat hands down! Modest room with oldish furniture, dusty lamps. Thin towels, and why can't they have shower curtains that keep the water from flowing out onto the bathroom floor. The pool... More

Hotel la Loma is ideally located within walking distance of town. The room u had was spacious with plenty of hot water. If yr room is near front desk you will be woken up by heavy footed guests on the wooden floors! Breakfast was adequate and home made breads added a nice touch. The Internet connection here is worse than... More

We arrived at La Loma with prepaid rooms -- they required that. When we got into our rooms, they were freezing cold, and the man at the desk did not know whether the heat worked or not. The showers are hard to describe -- you go into the bathroom, close the door, and turn on the water. No separate area... More

We have read some very bad comments on tripadvisor. It does not look anything like the Hilton, that is for sure. And you do not get to sleep there for free. But in our opinion it was a decent hotel. It was clean and the room was not bad at all. The hotel style is a little old-fashioned/homey. The owner... More

This hotel is in a good location in Calafate, convenient to the main road. The staff were friendly and nice. However the rooms were old and dingy and definitely not worth the price they were charging especially since there are nicer places at the same rate. Also, they advertised lunch boxes but they weren't available when I was there. Internet/computer... More

Dirty floor in the room, horrible bathroom, no hot water in the morning, disapointing breakfast. Please don't go there, there should some better places in el Calafate!
