Located ~10 minute walk outside of the downtown area, this hostel served our needs of a jumping off point for Perito Moreno. While the bed was perhaps not the most comfortable, the room was ample and the bathroom was large. The kitchens were a bit haphazard but totally served our needs to help cook in a few nights. Wifi was... More

I really like this place! The location is a little out of town (around a 10 minute walk), but if you arrive by bus, they come and pick you up by minibus. The rooms are clean and have a pretty good layout. There are two bunks and four large lockers, that easily hold a huge rucksack with room to spare.... More

We stayed in the private room, and I must stay they are very good value for money! They were also extremely helpful in booking excursions for us. They have wifi, a nice little restaurant and a kitchen were you can cook your own food. You also can enjoy the backpackers atmosphere as people are very friendly and like to share... More

This HI is one of two in El Calafate and is slightly further out of town, but still walking distance to everything you need. We had a double room with our own bathroom which was spotless and very comfortable - it looked a lot more hotel-like with not much personality though. The breakfast was included and was simple and tasty.... More

Considering its established reputation and the price of the accomodation it's logical one would expect more than what you actually get in Hostel del Glaciar. The main point is: It's too much commercialized. Of course, I'm not naive or a classic socialist kind of person, I'm just hoping for that wonderful experience El Calafate could have been. First: The staff... More

The location is a 15 minute walk into town. Our (double with shower) was simple, clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and they do speak decent English . The WiFi worked very well in the lobby and dining room and sporadically in the bedroom with a weak signal. The breakfasts were basic so could be missed... More

I stayed for a total of two nights in the Hostel Del Glacier, one night before and one night after a trek in the Patagonian Andes. I really liked staying there. The reception staff were really helpful and responsive to my needs, and the reception are was well laid out, with lots of information about tours and trips in the... More

At $68 USD for a double Superior room, this hostel was a great value. It's a bit of a walk into town (10-15 minutes), but the room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Unless you're really pressed for time, you might take a miss on the rather basic breakfast that is not included in the price... More

This hostel was clean and comfortable. The room was more than you might expect for the term "hostel". I think nice hotel room would be a better desciption. Breakfast included. We stayed in hostels throughout our trip and this was one of the pricier ones - but well worth the money. We booked our trip to the Glaciar through the... More

Hostel Del Glaciar Los Pineros did not honor our reservation. They had no record of it and shurgged their shoulders when we showed them the confirmation email. 1. Staff is the rudest, most unhelpful staff I have ever encountered at a hostel. They did nothing to try to rectify the reservation problem and acted as if we were nuisance because... More
